There seems to be talent there, it just hasn't been unlocked. His end product is non existent and his fitness has been called into question.

Looks levels above others at England U21 level and of course when you see the workrate last season it could be 2nd season syndrome or his heads been turned.

Looking at other English lads fees...£40mil seems high in isolation but reasonable when compared with say Gibbs-White etc.

Is a player there for sure, as per last season. However, this year his attitude and appllication has not been there at all and I think most of the Everton fan base would be happy for him to go for the right fee.

Thanks for the replies - I see he's dividing opinion. Maybe there is a player in there that someone like Howe can put an arm around and get the best out of. But his attitude seems poor and I'd be concerned about integrating him into a tight-knit squad that demands everyone works for the team rather than for themselves.

And anything over £30M seems not worth the gamble.

Good luck with the manager search and hope you get out of this mess. Would be a tragedy to be playing Championship football (or worse) at Bramley-Moore.
