Another step backwards

Firstly the guy has died which is awful. And it means another mark against any possible world cup here. I had always been under the impression violence among fans was on the decline, but west ham vs millwall earlier this season and now someone murdered in the stadium whilst the game was being played, what next? Abhorrent!

From what I read he was hit over the head with a bin and died, by a fellow Blackburn fan. Could have happened anywhere, sad for the poor fella who died and also the dude with the bin, clearly he hasnt meant to kill the fella.

last year at the brit, i watched a Stoke 'fan' climb into the disabled bit and head for an Evertonian, that was at the opposite side of it, the guy who weighed about 22 st. and was covered in tats was abusing the blue (who tbh looked a bit of a trainspotter) and the bloke was kind of giving him the "me ? what ? what are you on about? " response, yet this fella was intent on havin' him. he got within yards and had the trigger cocked, i have no doubt that if 2 stewards hadn't realised and grabbed him then he would've knocked the lad clean out, it took 2 stewards and coppers to drag the bloke away.

similarly i have a mate who watches wigan, he was bottled in the back of the head, making his way back to the carpark at the jjb, by a stoke fan. there is no love lost between the 2 since wigan ripped the old victoria ground to pieces in their non-league days, and the fixture ias always a lidfest, they play each other this week and it's fair to say that more than the usual loons will turn up after what has happened, i would even say that blackburn loons (and there are a few) will roll up at the jjb/dw to get some retribution, the only way to prevent it is to cancel all the stoke tickets and turn cars back that appear to be heading there. i have a feeling that this midweek will not be without incident.
