Going down the list the only thing I see of actual papness is Robin Hood. Otherwise the list is littered with gems like Gladiator, Alien, Blade Runner, Black Hawk Down and American Gangster. I think going back to the same canon as Alien is a good move, as he isn't likely to go retarded like Lucas did.
