another case of the referees?

I think the ref was a little too quick to get his book out for sure but I dont think he was biased against us, if anything that was no way a red card and that allowed us back into the game.

As for carsley, it wasnt so much the shouting that got him booked but the running up to the ref and pushing/falling into him while screaming. It was stupid and he deserved a yellow card.

I actually felt the ref was quite poor and couldn't wait to get the yellow card out. Example being that when Mikel got sent off, prior to the ref pouring the spotlight on himself, we were on a bit of a break. But no got to cover myself with glory and pull out the red card.

Its almost like a red card is the equivalent of a 30 yarder. Hey look at me boys I have a card its red and I'm going to show it. No reason why he couldn't have waiting and then pulled it back. He seemed to do that for Chelsea after Joe Cole had missed his chance.

The game has declined with the officating in my opinion. Walton again last night was another example even if he did actually help us. If you watch the games of yesteryear the ref hardly ever waived a yellow card and it had to be excessive for a red. These days they are handing them out like bus tickets. the game doesn't seem as fluid as it once was. To much stopping and starting for my liking.

Belletti should have been given a yellow for diving in the box after Lescott cut him off and he went down like he'd been shot.

Maluki or Malubi also went down clutching his face after we took the ball off him, ref waved play on, surely they should be stamping down on this faked stuff.

Clearly trying to con the ref into a freekick, booking or foul is just awful.

Also surrounding the ref demanding a red card should be outlawed. Fine the players, hit their wallets.

Oh, and I thought the ref did a decent job considering the match and atmosphere.

Didn't give Faddy a yellow card for kicking out at Belletti when you know he saw him do it.
