Angus 'happily dissatisfied' Kinnear

I’m not sure that the CEO should have a say in players. They are running a commercial business which happens to be football. The role is so much more than just football… that’s what the specialists roles are for.
We are in a different world now due to the commercial opportunities relating to the club
I don't think he does tbh. He set up the team and let them make the decisions.

But who's demanding that we wow the world right now? I'm more than satisfied with turning up at taboo grounds and actually getting off the bus. We saw that on Monday. That's real progress.
I mean there's some out there who have a real expectation we are going to get Europe this year tbf.

I read that as no transfer activity in January and give the young signings more time
Yep.

Across January, the Sky Sports transfer window ticker will countdown in milliseconds in an attempt to whip up a trading frenzy amongst their viewers, but all our experience demonstrates how challenging the winter market is to deliver quality and value. We will work towards identifying and executing opportunities that will make us stronger in the long term. But these opportunities will need to be exceptional, and we will avoid short-term fixes that will weaken our hand for phase two of our rebuild next summer.

Didn't read all of this but from a quick skim thought it read well

Sound too much chatgpt for my liking...corporate crap really. Final position will tell us how good angus and co have done. At present, its OK, but we have been lucky with injuries. We need a cup run. Out against Sunderland and it will be a very disappointing cup season...pressure is on, but I have a feeling that the zero accountability mindset continues to be present at the club.

Most of the transfer business is still a wait and see, and everything hinges on getting that right, or mostly right. I don't expect much business in January apart from right back and a forward, they can be tentative and do loans if necessary, but we should make additions.

I'm glad of the increase in revenue and long may it continue. But I don't want to focus on it as a fan - we appear to have competent people so let them do their work. I have to say an occupational hazard of being a toffee over the past decades has been the need to take an unhealthy level of interest in our accounts and balance sheet, I'm tired of that, let the football do the talking.

Summer will be interesting as always - they may feel an obligation to make a significant sale for what they see as the long term benefit of the club. N'Diaye being the prime target I expect.

One thing I do know is that you build a team and squad around your better players. Brighton and the others get plaudits and correctly so to a degree but only to a degree. Sell when we are in a strong position but there is no virtue in being a talent farm for the elite. We've had to sell players to the likes of Spurs, Villa, and Newcastle in recent years and those days are over hopefully.

As much as we all want some signings, it's difficult to argue with this well articulated rationale.

I should add the caveat that i'm sure Dave will find a way too. But i have been around here too long.

So the "we will need a few window" speech from moyes i guess that means we wil need a few years if we were to utilise only the summer window to get back fighting for winning things? Not good enough. TFG put a lot of money into the squad in roma initially, them putting no money in January will only confirm that we are not at the same level...I want to believe that this is them posturing and essentially using it as a negotiation tactic. We need players, pluriel, in January. I think we will get a couple in, however unsure the rb we need will be found which for me would be a failure of the recruitment team
