Just seen the news. Very sad this. He was one of my childhood idols and I will never forget the goal he scored in the 1978 derby match.

R.I.P. Andy and sincere condolences to the King family.

Yep,that was Kingy's often forgotten derby goal,an equaliser which got us in that particular era a fine point at the tinmine.
Yes, Liverpool absolutely battered us that night at Anfield, then Andy scored the goal that silenced the Kop sent me and
loads of other Blues into raptures. I remember him getting sent off at Goodison when Emlyn Hughes threw himself on
the floor, Andy hadn't touched the snide, but off he went. Great Bluenose even though he came from down south, look at
the tributes starting to pour in, all mentioning his sense of fun and good humour and personality , we could do with
someone like Andy now at Goodison Park. Rest in peace Andy and thanks for some unforgettable memories.

Latchford, Dobson and King were my boyhood heroes. Used to love standing on the Street End singing "Oh, Andy is our King!" When he scored.

Like Alan Ball, Duncan Ferguson and Tim Cahill, he wasn't born a Blue but he certainly died one. 58 is cruelly short for such a great.

Rest in peace, mate. The world is slightly less fun without you.

The seventies will go down as a barren time in our history but looking back now we also had some wonderful times and to be honest I miss some of those days.Kingy was a very big part of that era and I loved the man.
RIP Andy gone but never forgotten
