I love his technique when he shoots and you can see how he generates such power - contorts his whole body to gets as much behind it as possible. Maybe he never really hit the heights at Palace because he just didn't often enough get the space he needs.

I think at Palace he was playing for a manager with a negative approach and an attacking game plan focused on getting it to Zaha.

He's now playing 10 yards further up the pitch and with a bit of momentum and confidence. Pleased for him as he seems a good sort.

Townsend is one of many players that was mis-used at certain clubs.
Doucoure (I thought he had a decent season last season) was not used to the best of his ability last season and now look at him.
This is why when we get underwhelming signings then we must look at why the manager wants him....they must see something.
Usually managers sign ex players like Silva did with Richarlison and he also wanted Doucoure
Ancelotti with James and Allan
Benitez with Rondon and Townsend
These players are trusted by the manager
