Our homepage has been running this since Thursday, but I don't think we've got a thread on him yet. Unless he's confined to the rumours thread until something more solid is confirmed?

ESPN Deportes (a Spanish-language sports channel) have today reported that Everton are preparing a deal to sign Valencia winger Andres Guardado. Roberto Martinez has been linked with a move for the Mexican winger in the past, and is a known admirer. ESPN Deportes, and several Spanish and Mexican journalists claim Everton will make a move for the 27-year-old, who is out of favour at Valencia and joined Bayer 04 Leverkusen on loan in January.

Don't think I've seen him, unless he played for Mexico in the World Cup? That tournament's a glorious blur for this German, but maybe some of you remember how he did.

This guy is absolutely useless!

Much rather we went for a young pacey winger. Atsu on loan plus for me.. Scott Sinclair if cheap could be anything

Was my must buy wonder kid for champ man 03/04. Some problems with work permit, but after a couple of years in Portugal was a star. Got too expensive in later versions, but was one of my first FM loves.

I would go for his Mexican team mate Javier Aquino (Villarreal), although he play right midfield and he is only 24. I watch him play during world cup and he cause all sort of problem for Kyut.

I don't rate him at all. We can do much better. It's a pass from me.. and I would be very surprised if Bobby goes for him.

Was at the emirates yesterday, he came on for 20 minutes so he didn't have much time. Took all of the corners and free kicks when he was on and he was actually pretty good with those, threatening every time. But that was about it, he's starting today.

Can't say I've watched him enough to have a proper opinion on him, age and the fact he's out of favour means I'm pre-disposed against him, but if Martinez goes for him, I'll give him a chance before writing him off.
