Yep I'll happily hold my hands up and say I thought he'd get overrun tonight, and to be blunt the way he's played a few times for us this season I felt justified in thinking.

A very pleasant surprise to be proved wrong. Need to see that far more consistently though, he has the quality in the middle to control games. Maybe he needs to start telling himself that some more, perhaps the injury has robbed him of some confidence.

That was his best game by a country Mike this season. Used the ball well, done what he needed to do defensively, carried the ball well.

That's the Gomes that we need to see. If he can do that against a team who press, he can do it against anyone
