Considering that horrific injury , he looks a class act with good players around him.
He was class when he first arrived , and looks back to his best.
We have potentially one of the best midfields in the Prem.
Cue - loads of injuries / suspensions. Lol.

He's the Paul Bracewell to Allan's Peter Reid.

He's no Xavi, but he's doing a solid job in the Xavi role.

James is delivering the Iniesta creativity from a weird place with longer balls, but he's delivering it.

Allan is our Busquets, and Doucoure is doing a job by freeing Gomes to focus on the Xavi role and relieving pressure on the CBs while also supporting attacks.

Truly amazing that Carlo saw how well these specific pieces would fit together.

Yesterday was the first game in ages we saw Gomes try one of those slaloming runs he used to do where he’d break through about three players. He used to do them all the time but I’ve not seen him do it for ages since his injury. It was back yesterday though. Papa Carlo is nursing him back to his best because at his best he’s an absolute beast.

Thought he was cracking yesterday, especially first half, much more positive and forward thinking with his passes.

Still needs to learn how to stop when he’s running towards an oppo player though as he doesn’t stop and just runs right into them. Reminds me of that speedster kid on Mighty Ducks 2.
