Remember last year’s derby. He bossed it! Head & shoulders the best player on the pitch. Then Pickford..........well we know what happened.

That was a bad injury he had. He was written off for the season. He made it back ahead of schedule. Had he played for a top 6 side, he would have been eased in, but this is Everton. If you can walk, you’re playing. So he played semi fit, with a non-existent midfield & got slated by idiots.

If Carlo can get the best of him, we’ve got a real player.
This basically

Loads of my RS mates at the time said we were the best team they played at Anfield that season

Still can't believe he missed that header though

And that is the big conundrum for me. At sporadic times, we have looked superb. 89 minutes at Anfield, the 4-0 on the hours vs Manchester United and Chelsea at home last season. But we have never had a proper balanced 11 since 2009. This is, on paper and on the brief showings of the week, the closest we have been in a decade. And we have a winner in the dugout for the 1st time too.

Lets see if he has a good game today...

Was 'ok' 6/10 last week...id be fine with 6/10 today as at least its some consistency.

Second game in a row he is not having enough positive impact on the pitch. Seems to be doing things the complete opposite of the other midfielders.

lack pace lack drive lack closing down and lack positive forward thinking passes
