Totally agree. He was the main difference yesterday. If Schneiderlin had played instead of Gomes yesterday then we'd probably have lost.

All our good and bad spells of form in the Silva era have been according to Gomes‘ form/fitness

Does not help building up yellow cards or even get a red and then suspension. Can be tough without that just ask the likes of Reid.

Best footballer on the pitch for me. His close control is immense. A bit concerned about the frequency he fouls, but overall excellent; appears so much better combining one with Iwobi and Davies.

There is no stat for putting the ball half s yard in front of people either but its so important. The likes of gana and schniederlin put the ball right into feet or even just behind, so when you get a pass from them your first thought it to protect it, get a pass from Gomes and you already have forward momentum. Now both of these will go under completed pass but theres a massive difference and how it affects a teams tempo
