I'm not interested in details.Infrastructure isn't there (how would the income be split between club and PL)
and you'd get a bigger disparity with the bigger teams and smaller teams.

Amazon Prime has that in which you can watch matches again, but this looks even better. Will have to look into this when grounds reopen.Thats what we have in NZ, Spark sport $14,99 nzd (8 pounds) per month every game live, and can replay them and you get highlights ect. they have something similar in OZ ( Bein connect?). You could always use a VPN to Auckland and sign up this way, not sure what quality would be like from the uk but in NZ can stream at 4k no issue

And his constant heavy breathing down the micI detest Martin Tyler and his stupid pre kick off phrase
The argument has never been about attendances at prem games if shown on tv at 3pm saturday, it is the effect on lower league attendances as they mostly play 3pm Saturday so no tv games allowed to detract from attendances in this core slot.
I.e. argument is if Chelsea v arsenal on tv at 3pm Saturday no one will bother going to watch mk dons v Fleetwood, they will stay at home and watch the tv game.
The 'true/hardcore' fans would do, but I imagine that especially in the lower leagues there are teams with plenty of more casual fans who also 'support' a PL team and may well choose to stay home and watch them instead if they have the option and it's raining cats and dogs in the middle of January. If you support Fleetwood, you go and watch Fleetwood. No matter what, I guess. Don't think a real fan cares what other matches are on tv or not. If you like football however, with no real alliances or emotional ties with Fleetwood, but it's easy to get to, it might be a different case. Some people just prefer the comforts of sitting at home on the sofa and watch from there.
For me personal, nothing beats going to the match. I support Fortuna Sittard over here and believe me, it doesn't matter to me what matches are on tv. If Fortuna plays (and I'm allowed to travel), I'll go and watch them. Watch as many Everton matches on the tv or internet as possible, but if it intervenes with a live match from Fortuna, I'll give it a miss and will without a single doubt in my mind, opt for that live match. Nothing beats going the match with your mates. Tv will always be only a substitute.
Only times I miss a match of them (under normal circumstances), is when I come over to watch Everton live and in the flesh. Also the only club in the world, I ever made that decision for.
Don't many leagues around Europe have much lower attendances? I'm sure I've often seen european leagues on tv and the stadiums look half empty (pre-covid obvs).Serie A games used to be 4pm U.K. time on a Sunday during the Channel 4 “Football Italia” days. Every live match there was a packed stadium and it was a full programme of matches kicking off at the same time. The matches were all live on Italian Pay TV at the same time Channel 4 broadcasted.
We must be the only league in Europe at least with such a broadcasting restriction in place.
Isn't the whole league posting financial losses? The big clubs still make large amounts from the match going fans. A large part of the reason we're moving stadium is to increase this aspect. Pretty sure we wouldn't be bothering if we could survive without the match day fans, without taking in to account the effect it would have on the atmosphere and quality of football.100% this. Top level football doesnt need match going fans anymore to survive.
PL should offer a Netflix style streaming service - that would be perfect

Premier League version of Netflix is on it's way. No doubt.
NFL do it, NBA, WWE. I think it's inevitable the PL will go the same way. Probably something the big cluns would be favour of, as it cuts out the middle man, ie a bigger portion of the pie direct to the league/clubs, plus you could distribute the money more inline with which teams are drawing the most views, which would mean more ££ again. The TV companies that buy the packages won't like that (they buy content for their own customers) and the PL made almost £10billion in the last round of sales.
It's also not cheap to set up and run a streaming service. Netflix spend £1billion a year on basic infrastructure for example.
I think I’m right in saying that we have now had our last 38 league games televised live on one channel or another - ie an entire season.
I have to admit it’s the first time in my life I’ve seen every game, home and away including cup games live for an entire year.
So the question is, should TV continue to broadcast every Prem game after the pandemic - staggered starts and Thursday 6pm kick offs and all?
(May well be different to those outside the UK)
Must admit I’ve got a bit of football fatigue from it all to be honest. I’ve kind of lost interest in watching some games because it just seems to be relentless. Probably 10 years ago I’d have loved it but I can’t really be bothered watching games every day.

The NBA and NFL do have their own channels over here, but the majority of their games, especially the good ones, are still broadcast on network and cable TV. The NFL and NBA networks usually get the lowest rated playoff matchups, and normal mediocre regular season games. NFL Network gets one/game at most, although sometimes they share coverage with CBS. Most of the programming on the NBA and NFL networks are day time talk shows and reruns of old games.NFL do it, NBA, WWE. I think it's inevitable the PL will go the same way. Are you stateside then? My bro has the NFL Network here (UK) and you get all the games, except normally one 6pm game (GoTW). NBA I used to have and as far as I'm aware you got all the games. The NBA and NFL do have their own channels over here, but the majority of their games, especially the good ones, are still broadcast on network and cable TV. NFL - FOX, CBS, NBC, ESPN/ABC and NFL Network
NBA - ESPN/ABC, TNT, NBA TV
So a PL channel seems inevitable, but the biggest matches will still be sold to large domestic networks. They have far more subscribers and the PL teams will get a lot more money that way.
