Election soon. Stick or twist?

If you voted Obama in, will you be keeping him in, and why.
If you aren't satisfied, will you be shuffling him on? and why.

Anyone that knows American politics. Know this. The president sets the tone and really can only veto bills. The House and Senate make the laws. All those bastards need to go. Lobbyists suck and actually both parties suck. There you go my take.

You are playing with fire here.

This thread will be closely watched for any 'tittishness'

I'm prepared to share my oven mits. Anyway, you are a fully fledged U.S of A'er, whats your outlook - this thread was really made for you, TX and a couple of other actual American people. As a means to get a feel for how the so called average Joe is expecting things to run. As for 'tittishness' I'll try to remain at base level, can't speak for anyone else though.

I personally think that talking politics on the internet is a bad idea. No opinions are gonna be changed and the only thing that usually results is resentment.

That's fine, but politics gets discussed plenty of other times so far as I have seen, and so far as resentment goes, who gives a toss? There seems enough to sink a battleship already, so when wet - go swimming.

It'd be easy to read a few US blogs, catch some of the US press, even a few of those crazies talking up their candidate on TV. But like in the UK they are no match for how the bloke on the street feels. How the people that vote (or dont) that work, that go for a few drinks to a bar, that chat it through at the dinner table, stand around the water cooler. That is the view I am after - no spin, no hype, just the average Joe that happens to follow Everton and care enough to post on this forum - hence making their opinion at least worth a read through once.

Opinions will be different, but in the UK the access to the thoughts and feelings of millions of unheard (here in the UK) voters in the US might give a more rounded and balanced view of the election as a whole.

2 cents and all that.

The disheartening thing for the Republicans is deep down they know they haven't got a candidate who will be strong enough to defeat Obama in a General Election. They've a very average line up at the moment.

OBAMA. OBAMA. OBAMA!

I don't want to get into politics but he seems like one of the only genuinely nice people left in all this politics business.

That might not count for much to run a country but it's kinda something you might want :)
