Some assumptions - feel free to challenge them.

Everton's board;

• Wanted Silva.
  Chased him for a while, offered a significant compensation fee for him.

• Didn't want Allardyce.
  Could have had him in within hours of Koeman's sacking. Allardyce knew he wasn't wanted, publicly withdrawing himself to save face.

• Allardyce was only ever here until the end of the season.
  Some will disagree with this, but the hesitancy of the appointment, the contract length (after negotiation, EFC would have wanted less, Allardyce longer) - I think he was an absolute last resort and a panic appointment to save us from the abyss. Everton sacked Koeman too early, Unsworth was given a torrid run of games and there was too much media pressure on Everton's hierarchy - they caved with Allardyce.

With those assumptions - given all this was just 30th November, if you're Farhad Moshiri, what do you do?

Why Dyche when there is plenty of managers around the world with better CV's that would come for half of what he is on... not talking about the "elite" manager list here either.

Dyche to me is Moyes mk2, he will burn up at his next club in my opinion.

Silva everytime - Watford have downed tools since Allardyce was appointed and they are still top half because of how Silva had them set up and playing.

Thats sound mate at least you have stated your opinion hahaha! I normally get a bit of abuse for questioning Dyche.

I just always take issue with the "knows the league"... So did Koeman, so did Martinez. In my opinion I want to see something else then someone who knows the league we are far too limited with our choices that way (which is why we are in the Allardyce doom boat).

Think Allardyce was always going at the end of the season (unless he did something unexpected - cup win, top 4/6 finish). Moshiri brought him in as a safe option to protect his investment.

I'd see whose available in the Summer, hopefully there'll be better options than Silva.
