The way they followed Benitez was cringeworthy tbh. Even over here, every Kopite I know treated him like the 2nd coming of Christ, while in reality he only ruined the foundations layed by his pre-successor Gerard Houlier. Sure he won the European Cup with them, but from then on it was a downward slide for him, even though he spend vast amounts of money.

Can't understand how any set of supporters can be blinded by one person, like the RS have. Only now some of them are starting to see that Benitez wasn't a god send gift. At least not for them.

Twas ever thus, mate. They've always had that cult of the individual. That's part of their identity - to worship individuals. It's something that sets them apart from Everton. Sure, we have an icon in Dixie Dean. But the emphasis has not been, generally speaking, to elevate men into Gods. There's something weirdly primitive about them. It's like those Boca fans who made Maradona into an officially registered religion. That's something Kopites would do.

There's two speeds to Kopites: they're either obnoxious, arrogant bellends when they win stuff; or wailing banshees prepared to break every code of acceptable behaviour when they're on the back foot. There's no middle ground with them. I always knew the former was the case, but it's taken their decline to hammer that other lesson home.

A bigger bunch of pricks in the world of football it'd be a struggle to find. I think the rest of the country are beginning to realise what we've had to put up with for an awful long time. They might come out of this crisis with another buyer who'll bankroll them, but they know the mask has slipped and the truth is out there now.

the other is those that started following when LFC won stuff and only follows coz of that. Has know understanding or knowledge of the city or history just wants to beat the Mancs etc and thinks EFC are a small club and frequent RAWK daily.

Had a look at Rawk last night, was comical reading them all planning on getting the High Court.

Things like :

"Yeah I live in Watford so will pop down"
"Im only 5 minutes away, so not a problem"

More southerners than United them Kopites.

Incredible they are. You get stuff like: "Do we have a definite date for the red army march on dat der London? We'll take the Smoke by storm, our numbers are unvanquishable. We're like lions roaring"

Complete buffoons.
