Alex?

Would be good if we had money. But it's unlikely that Distin or Heitinga will be injured in the next 6 weeks. Even still, playing Neville at centre back wouldn't be the end of the world.

With Saha and Denis as our 2 main strikers we are absolutely f*cked and will not improve.

We do need a centre back, but our priority has got to be getting a striker. Maybe buying someone like Jordan Rhodes then getting an emergency loan to cover centre back would be our best option.

Azzuri, with statements like that can you let me have the lottery numbers for next Saturday please? Any player can get injured at any point, therefore cover is essential. At the moment, that cover amounts to Shane Duffy.

However, I think Alex's wage demands and potential fee will put him out of our reaches. With Chelsea needing to clear him off the books I can't see them loaning him out either.

We do need a striker and if £3m/£4m is being bandied about (I'd be surprised myself though tbh), we have to look at taking a gamble on Championship or League One players; something I have every faith in Moyes in regards to, OR look at someone with 6 months left on their contract who might be available now at a small fee prior to leaving on a free (a la Pienaar).

I reckon Moyes will be looking out for a new keeper, Howard will be our main striker now.
I would love Alex though, think hes fantastic. I cant see Moyes bringing Duffy back and then buying a defender, I think if we buy a player, it will have to be a striker.

3-4million pound striker whoever that may be, and probably Onouha maybe on loan till the end of season with a price agreed for the summer
