Had a drunken row with the missus on Thursday night. Came in battered and there is a note on the front door saying...... ' Sam sleep in the spare room' My name not being Sam...... I decided to go in to the bedroom and accuse her of getting her names mixed up ...... and accusing her of having an affair with Sam. She then told me ............. To go FFFFFFF myself and read the note again. Having read it again.............. I realized it said '5am sleep in spare room' It cost me financially and emotionally for 2 days.

Women are so unreasonable, I don't understand it.

A few years ago it suddenly dawned on me how overrated alcohol is. The pleasure of a few brief hours being pissed doesn't compensate for the pain of the hangover the next day. Plus the fact I don't like myself much on it. Tend to argue a bit. So I stopped pretty much and it's one of the best things I've ever done. Maybe get pissed once or twice a year now if that. Only probably is I'm now stoned a lot instead, but that's for another thread. :(

Living in an Eastern European country, it's quite normal and actually socially acceptable to see younger teenagers or even kids drink alcohol. I am drinking from time to time, mostly on Fridays and Saturdays, but I am trying to limit it to a certain point and that's why I've never been so drunk and smashed that I could not walk or remember stuff from last night etc. To be 100% honest with you, I am scared of me being drunk and there are few nice reasons for that. My friend already destroyed 2 cars while being drunk and he is not even 18. Another one almost lost all his blood just because pure stupidity and alcohol.

That's mainly why I am okay with having 4-5 shots max. Gets me up, makes me dance, but can't make any damage to anyone around me.

Stoptober and how pathetic it is... my birds sister has been doing it and has let every man and his dog know about it, been asking for sponsors all over the place, acting like it's going to change the world, has a backstory on the website explaining why she is participating and all that bollocks any how turns out she was drunk on fri night after a monumental struggle of a whole week and a half without a bevvy but that's ok she's allowed to drink whilst doing this and still wants to claim the sponsor money off whatever mugs have sponsored her because they have a getout clause which is a ''Golden Ticket'' that allows you to have a drink if somebody purchases it for you at a cost of 15 quid. Hahaha ha ha. I'll bet she doesn't mention it to the people who have sponsored her either the bad con woman.

@Groucho

I laid off it September - successfully, no sneaky bevvies. I don't know what people think of these 'dryathlons', whether they're bollox or not, but it was good for me. Doubt there was substantial physical benefit, but it was good to mentally re-adjust - don't tend to get hammered but was definitely drinking too regularly. Was easier than I expected, too, once up and running.

I asked the missus for sponsorship, to which she told me to GTFO and come back when I'd done it for nine months, twice.
