Alcohol … how’s your relationship with it ?

I'd probably prefer shorts these days - either whisky or rum - but I buy too much beer when it's on offer so there's always plenty of that nearing its sell-by date that I feel obliged to drink up. Rarely more than 2 pints in one evening, though.

To weigh this up im an absolute raging pothead who would probably be in a clinic somewhere if I tried drinking what I smoke.

🤪
Its a wonder its not legalised. But I'd prefer a wee puff over a sesh and I sleep better. Wife doesn't though when the snoring starts but thats with both poisons.

" The Fear " as the Irish call it.

This is why I drink in moderation now, as from the moment you wake up following a decent drink, you can`t settle, you`re snappy, irritable and find it really hard to concentrate. You generally just want to be on your tod and out of the way.

If you`ve never suffered from it, it`s a hard one to explain.

There`s a classic line in the film Withnail and I - " Pass me a valium, for I have The Fear ".
Yer valium is essential for bad hangover

Beer fear we call it up here too. Although we have two scenarios for it:

- The morning after, wondering if you'd said or done anything regrettable (also known as 'dooming')
- The stomach crippling anxiety you get the morning before you start drinking

Benzos on top of ale, oh what happened to us and why didn’t someone warn us of this.

Drank silly amounts back in my university days. Used to crave it when I'd have an occasional night off which would suggest I had a reliance of sorts.

Much decreased over the years. Don't drink in the week at all now. Will still have a few of I go out, but that's not that often. Will share a bottle of vino with the missus on a Friday. That's about it for drinking at home. Can't be arsed with all the hangover business

Government are absolute cowards and scared to death of being voted out of their comfy existence by the blue rinse brigade for having the balls to do what any forward thinking country, and America, have done and legalise it and reap the tax off it instead of lining dealers pockets

I go to our pub every single day with my wife. I have a couple of pints and she has a J2O or a Soda Water. It’s purely for social interaction, conversation or dominoes, with friends. My wife can wander around in this safe space speaking with people who all know and look out for her. We very rarely drink at home anymore…..

We all know you're a raging pisshead Pete.
Don't be blaming your poor wife for your drunkenness 😘

The nonsense you post after hours leads to me to believe you're lying or a lightweight.
