Do people seriously think that he picked Alcaraz because he thought he was the better option?

It was because Stones wasn't fully fit.

50% stones for 45 minutes would've been better than 100% Alcaraz for 90.

Don't put him on the bench if he's actually unavailable.

Can say the same thing for Barry and Gibson...

Barry and Alcaraz played the whole game when Stones and Gibson were on the bench. Tells you all you need to know about how awful his selection and substitutions were.

Yes I think he picked him cos he thought his "European experience" would benefit us.

To be fair, he didnt know he would put in the worst defensive performance since David Luiz versus Germany.

What annoyed me most whether he picked Alcatraz from the start or not is that when we went down in the game everyone and his dog could see Alcatraz was having a mare barring Martinez,why like fella's like Mourinho did he not drag him off and change things?,we may well have plugged the gap,maybe we wouldn't have but at least try to make the change.

Bang on he should of changed it.
A manager that see's a problem and leaves it instead of sorting it is a real worry

complete contrast from last season when he was doing imaginative things like lukaku right wing vs arsenal. the experienced players have let him down all season, so he's repaid them by keeping them in the team to dig us out of the holes. last season he would have trusted the youth players, it's all been odd.
