Been a disappointing year for music for me, being honest, there's only been 3 or 4 REALLY stellar albums out.

I'll go with:

1. The Roots - How I Got Over.
2. The Dillinger Escape Plan - Option Paralysis.
3. Alter Bridge - ABIII.
4. Janelle Monae - The Archandroid.
5. Deftones - Diamond Eyes.

Don't do singles, but if I had to pick one it would be Tightrope by Janelle Monae ft. Lucious Left Foot.

My top 10 albums of 2010; in order:

1.) Rolo Tomassi - Cosmology
2.) Kylesa - Spiral Shadow
3.) My Chemical Romance - Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys
4.) The Dillinger Escape Plan - Option Paralysis
5.) Crime In Stereo - I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone
6.) Circa Survive - Blue Sky Noise
7.) Cancer Bats - Bears, Mayors, Scraps and Bones
8.) The Birthday Massacre - Pins and Needles
9.) Pulled Apart By Horses - Pulled Apart By Horses
10.) Autolux - Transit Transit

It's been a stellar year for my kind of music; alternative rock and metal in particular. And whilst the charts are clogged with the same regurgitated bullshit for the most part, yet again, it's good to know there's plenty of quality bands out there producing music, still.

Here's hoping that in the new year, it's all just as good. And that Radiohead release their new album at some point.

Good man.

I'm not a lover of modern R&B/Hip-Hop really, but there's just something about The Roots that does it for me 100%, I think they're fantastic.

I know you'll disagree RFUS, but that Circa Survive album thoroughly stunk the place out, for me.

Big Radiohead fan here.

Iron & Wine's new album is the next one I'm really looking forward to.

Nirvana aside (I'm less a fan, more a religious follower, haha), Radiohead are my favourite band of all time.

They're just geniuses, the lot of them. And if you're a fan, here's a cool thing I discovered on the internet. OK Computer (1997) and In Rainbows (2007), are made secretly, to play together. If you start with the first song of OK, then the first of IR, then second of OK and so on, they gel together. It's incredible... Give it a try. It's best if you add a 10 second overlap though.

It's not as good as their others -- Juturna is far and away their best -- because unlike the others it does have some duds. However I do indeed disagree. "Spirit of the Stairwell" is one of the best songs I've ever heard, for example, so I think it has the high points to really make up for them. All in my opinion of course :)

EDIT: Although for the first 20 listens or so I was indeed disappointed. About 80 listens afer that, (of the whole album I mean), I have to stand by it. It's a great album. I can't listen to [Poor language removed] 100 times, haha. Albums have to have something to get me to stick with them for that long.

Genius.

I LOVE Radiohead , incidentally .

And bizarrely , the finest live performance I saw this year was recently by a Big Lass , called Adele .
Awesome .

Kanye West's Album , is , to quote me Nephew's ; SICK AS FUK !!!

Vero .

Eminem - Recovery is the best album i have listened to in a long time. Every single song on there could be a single and be a hit.

I don't like rap or hip-hop at all. But Eminem has the 'honour' of having the only rap song I actually like; Stan. Video included, as well. I adored that song as a kid, and I still like it now. Modern poetry, I guess you could say.

It's from that I can see why people like rap. I love lyrics, that's an important part of music for me -- and why I detest most of the stuff in the charts (show me a top 40 song that's not about getting off with someone, and I'll show you a cat with wings), but some rap artists do seem to utilise the medium for almost biographical lyrics. I get the impression Kanye West does that, so I won't sniff at all the praise his new album's getting.

I think I'll reserve my musical hatred for all the [Poor language removed] that comes out of the X Factor, anyway.
