I always thought he was doing alright there especially from where they were when he took over, they were in the [Poor language removed] then.

And they've been in and around the playoffs since he's been manager.

1 dodgy season and he gets the chop? Strange but that's togger like.

He even turned town the West Brom job to stay at Preston! What a way to pay back that kind of loyalty.

Doesnt have to make too much sense for a rumour to pop out over this though, no matter how bollocks.

Yeah, there'll always be the odd rumour, but if Irvine can't get it right at Preston, it's highly unlikely Kenwright would give him the big chair here should it become vacant.

Like said before, Fergie will be clattering his old bones under the foundations of OT.

Mentioned on the other thread - Irvine turned down the West Brom job in the summer to stay at Preston...what a way to repay that loyalty.

Alan Irvine has been sacked as manager of Preston. Would personally love him to come back in any role, maybe as a second assistant but he will probably get another managers job elswhere.

BBC Sport - Football - Manager Irvine sacked by Preston

shame dont like to see good evertionans gut the boot good luck to him in his search for a new start wouldnt have thought he/or us would want him back here in any capacity hes moved on as we have

Clarke out, Irvine in. Irvine had a great understanding with Moyes, even did all the TV interviews after games. Our football has gone downhill since we appointed Clarke and i'd take Irvine back in a shot. Probably couldn't even afford to pay off Clarke to leave though with our finances.
