Bluerover

Player Valuation: £60m
Tonight sees the start of a new season for Premier and First Division clubs. The season runs from now until October.

Pundits seem to expect my team, Shamrock Rovers (who gave Everton Peter Farrell and Tommy Eglinton) a very good chance...I hope they are right!

Defending champions are Dundalk who will also be strong - they have an all-weather pitch a la Young Boys, and played some lovely football last year.

St Patrick's Athletic, Sligo and Cork City will also be in contention.

Rovers v Pat's is on RTE2 live tonight for those who can pick it up.

Let the games begin !!

Cabinteely FC have scored their first ever League goal!!

1-0 at HT at home to Wexford Youths

At HT in the Premier, Rovers, Galway and Dundalk all lead 1-0. 0-0- in the others.

Both my grandfather's are from Cork

My mum's dad from Skiberean and my dad's dad from Cork itself

My mum's mum is from Kerry, but they don't have a team, so Cork it has to be

Pretty handy at Gaelic Football though!! Taught the Dubs a lesson last Sunday in the League.

Bloody hell Pat's denied by Rovers keeper Hyland save onto the bar in 4th minute of injury time!!

Final Scores

Premier

Galway 1 Derry 2
Shamrock Rovers 1 St Pat's 0
Dundalk 1 Longford Town 0

Div 1

Cabinteely FC 1 Wexford Youths 0 (Cabinteely's first ever League game!! Well done!)
Waterford 1 Athlone 1
Shelbourne 0 Finn Harps 0 - 8 pm ko so still playing

As a Dubs fan myself Neiler, it is true that Kerry used all of their experience to absorb the early Dublin pressure, to be just physical enough, to blitz the Dubs early in the 2nd half (same as Donegal in the AISF last year) and then to hold on for the 2 point win.

Loads of lessons in this game for Dublin, and now is the time of the year to learn them - NOT in August and September.

Great double header at Croker later.
