Baffled that people don’t get it all the time and spend a tenner for a pint at the airport bar.

The world is corrupt. What's particularly galling about the uk though, is that most here dont see the corruption- its hidden behind fancy names, red tape, a complicit media (run by the same millionaires from the same schools) and gullible citizens - sorry- we're not citizens officially, we're subjects. Then to top that the mexua fallsover itself to highlight corruption in other countries while the red top readers snort decisively at other regimes.

It's the same everywhere brother, local corruption will never be highlighted in China for example as the whistle-blower would likely spend a long time in jail before death by firing squad. However, the Chinese broadcasters fall over themselves to highlight corruption in the USA and other nations.

I gave up caring a long time ago as I'm a stoic.

I know in Ireland all the shop employees in airports are agency workers on minimum wage
No extra for shift or weekends
You are given your 4 week roster a week in advance

Any supplies also typically have to clear security, which also adds to the costs.

Everything about airports in the uk is legalised scamming with authorities consent.

Odd that we live in a modern society where social justice warriors furiously attack anybody who makes an innocent mistake over gender, says something that just ONE individual might twist as being racist, sits in the centre over equality rather than being ultra feminist - yet there is silence at corporations repeated and merciless exploitation of the stupid, gullible or innocent.

Seems you can get away with a lot in the uk so long as you're collecting money- it's good business, its innovative, it entrepreneurial.

Wow, I have been to Pakistan for a couple of weeks to visit family, Manchester airport may charge over the top for everything but they are mere amateurs compared to there counterparts in Pakistan.
