2-10 is a [Poor language removed] shift.
i worked 4-12 in n.z. which was far better as you had the whole day to yourself (they classed that shift as nights), we used to do o.t. on top and you could still get up at a reasonable time and get stuff done, although some grabbing barshtards would work throught to when the day shift arrived for o.t. at 6 am.

thats a big 10-4.

when i graduated i was temping for BT and i had the 4-12 shift.

it just ruined the day. too late to go the pub. too knackered to get up early after watching crap night time tv.

i feel for you, fella.

6-6 days and nights are also [Poor language removed], check this shift pattern out

6-6 days over 2 weeks
mon,tues,fri,sat,sun,wed,thurs.

6-6 nights over 2 weeks
mon,tues,fri,sat,sun,wed,thurs.

as it was in wrexham i had an hour each way travel in rush hour traffic as well. the wage was good and you just knuckle down but when you come off them you realise how much they screwed you up.

in Holland i worked 6-6 days for 14 consecutive and then a week off, that was a killer, you was dead for the last 1/2 of your 2nd week and the first couple of days off, then into 'dam for the rest of your break, leaving you in no fit state to go back to work.

A few years ago I worked nights, 10pm-4am. I really loved those hours, but eventually my entire 'day' shifted to the point I was staying up all night and going to bed at 2 pm or later. I slept in for my 10pm shift on two different occasions, they weren't happy.

I hated working 2 - 10 shift, but the worst one for me was a night shift, working a 7 day fortnight. Wed - Sat week one then Thur - Sat week two 8 pm - 8 am. Never again!

Happy on a nice day job now 7 - 3 Monday to Friday, less money but at least I can see Mrs Whitebootman every night and we can go out at the weekend.

kelloggs?

I didnt mind the 2-10 shift, you can still go out then and get hammered, when you work the morning you have to be up at what 5 so you cant go out the night before.

gutted! Highest rate of teenage pregnancies there outside london! Llay i mean, not trefn engineering!

it's like Royston Vasey down there.

i used to go to pentre broughton a lot as well, as my sis-in-law used to live there. i used to knob off on the nights for a couple of hours, nobody even noticed as there were only about 6 of us there, the machines would run all night without touching them, if things had gone wrong i wouldve been in it though.
