Anyone else feel a bit depressed about the state of the world?

When USA are spending billions on pointlessly-damaging military misadventures, and BT needed €900m to win the right to show us some football on the telly, the entire EU manages to cough up only a tiny fraction of this to help out a country which has just suffered over ten thousand dead.

We moan about the divide between rich and poor within our own (rich) countries, but this example puts all that proper into perspective.

aye, we can talk about that as well. There's a debate if man-made cimate change (if such a thing exists) is mainly responsible for the apparent increase in natural disasters.

I'm gonna be honest and say I don't understand the science, but I know a lot of modern science is dependent on funding just as the oil barons are dependent on funds...sometimes it's difficult to read the truth among all the suits fighting to stay in the game.

TBH I am more arsed about the price of my gas/elec/water bills

****ty attitude but thats the way it is

I can get that. It's not stupid or callous to admit such things. I'm much the same if I'm being honest too. But still, I got a wave of dark defeatism about the world in general when I read about that €3m.

Will it inspire me to go into politics? No. Will I want to fly to the Philippines and roll my sleeves up? No.

But at the very least I just wanted to make that point, see what fellow blues think.

I get that mate, Its good to discuss things, Thats why we are on here after all

Sadly it's not that surprising though. I'd have liked to see every veteran today walk past Cameron, Clegg and Milliband and give each a punch on their way past to remind them not to invoke barbarity upon people without at least thinking twice. They should hang their heads in shame, not remembrance.

So basically, you are upset because others are doing pretty much the same as you? Or actually, they are doing more than you. Donate 10 quid to the relief fund, it may help you feel better

Probably due to the fact that not much money these days as it's all being spent on loan interest. China is just across the sea, how much are they sending?

As a percentage of the missing funds alone in the EU, that is a very paltry sum.

After all, why upset the gravy train for the sake of some johnny foreigners who have just had their lives ripped apart throughno fault of their own

There is plenty on the planet for everyone, we choose inequality instead
