I'll say this with a straight face.

If this team stays together next year, we get Fellaini back, and sign Donovan. And most importatly, stay away from the massive injury bug.

It could challenge for the title. On paper.

That said, we'd need to learn to show the consistency that Chelsea and ManU do that they find a way to win even when they aren't playing well and they take maximum points most of the time when they're expected to.

If we can learn that mentality, we could do it.

How do we learn that mentality though Bill?

We do seem to lack a player/players who can win a game for us out of nothing. Saha can but is too inconsistent, mainly cause of injuries.

Most of our goals seem to come from good team play.

You look at teams like Man U, Chelsea etc they all have players who can regulary produce that bit of magic to get the goal and the points if the whole team aren't playing too well.

Saha's shot off the bar yesterday for example, unlucky to miss but a good example.

We need someone who can step up when its not going right for the team.

Just a thought.

Oh shut up. Read what I've been saying. It's not about beating Man City or Man U. It's about beating the little teams too, if we want to progress, and I was asking a question about the mental state of the team to take that next step.

Hate posts like this who don't read all the posts and make a judgement.

And I hate post like yours wich mean absoloutley sweet FA ,Afraid to progress .Mental state ,What craps that?Your talking out of your bum hole mate .As per.Was it mental state that forced Sahas shot onto the bar?Cleared Cahills off the line?Sod off and stop talking out your harris.

That's a very good question and one that needs to be answered. Arteta can control a game but controlling a game and taking the game into your own hands and willing your team to victory is something different.

I think part of it is on Moyes to get the players to "buy in" to what he's trying to accomplish with Everton Football Club and to get them to believe that they can accomplish their career objectives with us.

There's still work to be done there but I think he's on the right track.

Ferguson bought Keane, an already established winner for a then record fee. It is great having a team full of superb football players, but if they lack 'bottle' then when a side like Bolton decide to make it a kicking contest all that happens is the manager starts crying about rough treatment and the Bolton players laugh and speak to the press about it.
