I would appreciate some advice re the best Broadband / Phone / Sport Deals

I am with talk talk at present

The package includes unlimited calls and broadband costs and about 37 quid per month but it is rubbish if anything goes wrong its a nightmare. The 'Technical team ' non of who speak English are quite frankly utterly incompetent and useless

So I am looking for a new provider

Preferably one who's technical team are British

Whats the Virgin package fibre optic like ??

Any advice re personal experiences would be appreciated

I would ideally want all the sports packages plus unlimited landline calls and the broadband would have to be reliable as I use it for work

Cheers in advance

Talk Talk is the worst company thats ever done business.

Ive been with Virgin and before that NTL since Broadband was invented, in the last 15 years or so I think my broadband has been down a grand total of about 20hours.

My advice is to take TV with sky as they can cut deals for the sports channels. Virginia have to sell them as a premium so will cost you more in the long run if you don't fancy paying out 120 a month.

broadband get with Virgin. It is much better and faster and more widely available than sky's. Fibre which is only half as fast.

avoid BT. Very expensive and not at all special. Plus they tie you into contracts over anything. We moved house and that apparently sighed a new 18 month contract with them. Small print and all that.

I'm with plus net fibre and I'm really happy with them. £9.99 for unlimited usage and speeds up to 76mb (plus the usual £15 line rental from BT).

To mirror what @Ashtonian said, avoid BT. They are total *removed*

Virgin been great tbh.

Broadband as Goat said is Bob On.
we're on eve/weekend phone, prob as cheap to have an unlimited sim in your mobile as to get the extra call packages.
we get basic tv with a Tivo box, cba paying out for the sports etc as with the b/band you can get movies in secs anyway, thingy the footy (ahem) 1 thing is if you get skysports package you don't get to do match choice like you do if through sky.

nea about seeing not HD qual games as the amount I save per year pays for me to view them with my own eyes and hurl abuse that opponents & refs actually hear (and at times respond to).

pay about £40 a month but make sure I get my moneys worth in various ways.

Who still uses a landline to make calls?

Skype - £89 a year for UK plus almost every overseas country and several mobile connections in different countries....

Was thinking of going with Virgin mate

One question whats the Technical support service like when things go wrong ?

In 7 years with virgin i've had my broadband go down twice.

The first time they were rubbish and told me i needed to install a driver on my comp again, waited about 3 weeks for them to send out the disc which never came and it just started working again on its own.

Second time they were fine and sorted it out.
