Advice for first time at Goodison.

Don't make me laugh. The park end is abysmal for atmosphere compared to Lower Gwladys, full of old men short of breath. *Takes cover*
In all seriousness though Dells spot on, Park End is OK but if you want to go full whack then Lower Gwladys is the way to go.

Haha - I'm in the Park End and there's a guy near us who totally proves your point... at Arsenal he sang this:

.......BERTO....'d a dream....FOOT bul TEEEeeeemmm....on LOOAAAANNNN....Back.....Attack..........Science........BACK....Duh-de-duh.

Hi, My Fiancée and I are coming over to Europe and the UK from Australia in February 2015 for our honeymoon and are planning to be at the Leicester City game at Goodison. I still can't believe we are going to be watching the blues play at Goodison.
My questions are what seats should I buy for our first time, with unobstructed views and a great atmosphere (it will be a long time until this happens again for us so want to experience everything)?
I made my first trip to Goodison two seasons ago, and my advice is the following:
1. The seats you can choose will be far more limited than you may expect. The number of STHs and other advance-purchase rights-holders really limits what you're able to get, so make sure you're online the instant the tickets for your chosen match become available. If you wait even a day, all of the decent tix will be gone.
2. The "obstructed view" guide on the seating charts you look at on EFC's website aren't a good representation of how obstructed the views really are. If you want a good view, stay as far as humanly possible from them; 1 row back but 5 seats further to the side is a trade-off worth making.
3. Despite (2.) don't forget that there is also a roof-top view obstruction that none of the charts make clear. If you get seats too far back, you'll have a hard time seeing the near-side of the pitch, but you'll also have a hard time seeing much else at all because of the roof.
4. There is also a trade-off between "view of the game" and "environment." If you like the rowdier, earthier crowd and want the experience more than the match, then defo go for Lower Gwladys. If you want to watch the match, see the players, and generally just take in an afternoon of footy, then go for something in the Upper Gwladys. Still earthy, but with a larger view and less distraction.
Also is there a chance of meeting the players or getting their signatures when they arrive or leave?
For me, it was just luck--after destroying ManCity, we visited the Everton store and then walked back toward Goodison Park and lucked into a chance meeting with Seamus Coleman, who was happy to chat, shake hands, etc...

Also what pub do people usually go to before or after the game to celebrate the win?
I know the game isn't for a while but I am trying to plan things so we can experience everything make the day as good as possible.
Thanks

I think it's already been said mate, but Lower Gwladys or Park End close to the away fans will be best for atmosphere

If you just want a good view of the pitch, there are some excellent views in the Main Stand and the Upper Bullens

I sit in MS3 pretty much directly along the halfway line, and I can see most everying bar one pillar partially blocking the view towards the Park End corner flag. @Allezfan can attest that the view is good. The atmosphere isn't as good though. Mostly people like me drinking Bovril and complaining

Hope that helped somewhat

If you signed up for the Foreverton as a non-Englander, how good are your chances at buying a ticket for a big match when they go on sale- say for a game against Manchester United or one of the big clubs?

Is there a way of seeing what the view is likely to be like from certain seats? Never sat in top balcony before but someone's "got me a ticket" for Sunday and has got obstructed view seats. How bad is this likely to be? Block TB1, row P

Thanks everyone for you help and advice, I think we are gunna go for the Gwladys or either the Main stand or LB close to the Gwladys, depending on where we can get tickets. We both have a ForEverton membership so hopefully that will help with getting good tickets, but will also be looking at StubHub.

Also, if you get a chance then do the stadium tour. They don't do them on matchdays but it's £10 and it's really good, the guide knows everything too.

Yeah we are planning on doing a stadium tour on the Monday as the game will be on the Sunday due to us progressing through the Europa League. Also hoping we have the home Europa game the 19th of February as we will be in London we will make our way up for it.
