This is me, trying to make a change.

I will ask a serious question

Would you contribute to a decent sized page advert in the FT for a plea to buy our club?

This is meant to

1. Stoke the club up a bit
2. Garner more interest

Or is this too embarrassing to comprehend? i was wide awake last night and just thought, we all moan about it, it's doing something about it that puts most of us off, this is quite an easy and straight forward thing to get logistically off the ground.

Really rather depends on the content of the advert. might be better coming from an official fans group - such as the people's group.

An out and out plea, come and get us, etc, would look desperate and silly.. and I don't believe would do much good for the overall image of the club.

A carefully worded statement on behalf of a particular fans group, directed at the current board may have a greater impact. I would also plump for a different broadsheet, where it is likely to receive more publicity. You'll need a fair wedge too - advertising space is not cheap.

Yes. This is my preference.

Agree with other sentiments on here. Just think about the yellow scarf protest and see how they totally misjudged the mood of the average Everton supporter. Just remember the golden rule. Evertonians love their club, are slow to protest and don't like doing down their own in public except when riled.

Yes, exactly i don't want to single the club out for a few personal reasons, rather highlight the fact the fans have a voice and want the media to hear it.

Now this is a protest with some actual thought behind it. Not just "er... lads lets er... stand around goodison together, eh lads?"

Why bother with an FT ad? We live in a social media age, why not just create something online and see how much support you can muster?

I've put something up on the GOT Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/EvertonFans?ref=ts

See how many likes we can get for it. Then you can go to the club and say 'x number of fans would like it sold'. Do a bit of PR around it, let Prentice know etc.

Wasn't something tried like this before and the papers wouldn't touch it with a shitty stick?

That's like me putting an advert in the press to sell your house. The FT, or any other media wouldn't entertain publishing it.

I think if we did take out an advert saying Everton are for sale, would you like to buy us any prospective buyer would sue us for wasting their time when Bill asks them to show him the money.

Cause when they show him a realistic offer for the club and he asks for a **** load more they'll turn and run like the rest of them.

Hence, I believe an open statement directed at the board, from an organised 'official' fans group would be far more effective, and likely to be entertained by the media.

I like how fans are now trying things to improve our club and actually making public their frustrations, when this happens it usually ends up with a change in the business end of a football club, I can only hope a good idea is thought of and put into action.
