Player Valuation: £6m
Am I the only one who thinks adriano would actually be a good signing? I know it would be a huge gamble for us as he may just sack off training and become VDM's drinking buddy, but atm we really need a proven goalscorer to lead the line ( although Cahill has done a great job ) and Adriano's record is fantastic, he's got all the attributes we need (Tall, powerful etc) and we all know that the majority of the time Moyes does well in getting the most out of his players. So do you reckon he's worth the gamble? personally I think yes.

If he wants to come over for £2.50 and a 99'er with a Flake then great.

If not....he can go to Citeh and be miserable.

Yes...

id definately prefer him to leroy lita, or this mexican bloke we're linked with, but thats not really saying much. do you not think moyes could repair his mentality?

end of they day they're probly just average players at best, i want someone with class and flair that shows that we're a club on the up, its only adriano's attitude that sucks but i seriously think that moyes could rectify that

I agree but we cant attract those type of players. Overseas we're not seen as a "big" club and we dont have the money to interest them to come over and sign, this summer proved that.

The average players you speak of have talant that can be used in the right way. They're also viable targets - cheap, talanted, and wanting to play for us.

Those Brazillain's are only interested in one thing - money. Apart from Juniniho (spelling) who played for Boro and maybe Giovanni at Hull, I dont think I know a modern brazillian footballer that wasnt a prick in the dressing room, caused grief and didnt demand lots of cash wage wise.

Yup pretty much.

On his day he's 1 of the best in the world & so you will always find people who want to take a gamble on him in the hope he produces what he's capable of. The thing is though, the odds of him ever becoming that player again are near enough nil & chances are he'd earn huge money for doing [Poor language removed] all & probably upset the applecart, putting 1 of our biggest strengths (our team spirit) at risk.

He has a huge amount of ability but if he never shows it there's no point in having it & he's got far too much baggage to make himself worth taking the chance on. If Mourinho can't sort him out I doubt Moyes can

Extremely debatable, so debate...

Out of the few recognised strikers he has bought...

McFadden? Ruined him.
Beattie? Ruined him.
AJ? Ruined him.
Yakubu? Lets see....
Saha? Injured, IMO rushed back too soon.

Away from Everton...

McFadden? Flourished
Beattie? Flourished
AJ? Flourished

McFadden has been about the same at Birmingham as he was in the premiership. He should be scoring 30 goals a season considering its a drop down in skill levels.

Beattie has been injured more than not at Sheffield. He's scored a fair bit down there but thats to be expected at a lower level.

AJ was always good but wanted to leave to live down south so it was hardly Moyes fault.

Yakubu has been class under Moyes' tutelage.

Vaughan and Anichebe, both players of fairly limited talents have outshone themselves when called upon.

No doubt they'll get sold to a championship side, score ten goals in one season and you'll rate them as flourished.

interesting to note how our flourished former strikers have all gone south of our 6th place in the league.

In fact most of them are in the championship.

and while we are at it, the one that didn't - Rooney, has in my opinion not progressed under ferguson the way he was under Moyes.

Under Moyes he was looking like the next Pele, now he just looks like a very good player.
