..it would be understandable and explain his lack of involvement later in the season. I wondered if he'd not quite hit it off with the younger players because of his immediate elevation to the first team. These things happen, so it's difficult to be in a new job in a new city.

There are plenty of examples. I'm old enough to remember the problems George Best had settling in Manchester when he left Belfast. It'll take time but it will help if he's playing well and getting game time.

He did alright in the end if I recall did Best.

These things happen in life though, not just in football, my Mrs moved from Australia to England and was really unsure about life at first and found it hard to make new friends etc but this is home now!

...exactly. Tournaments like this will help because everybody will see his quality. If you're good people want to be your friend.

Hopefully enough of Kenny, Dowell, Connolly and DCL will be hanging around the first team permanently next season that this WC trip will have provided him with some close friends to help him settle.

He was quality today Lookman, so was DCL

It must also be particularly difficult for Lookman because at Charlton he was the main man and adored by all by the sounds of it. The move from being the main man to a fringe player/upcoming talent has to be a big adjustment!

I think he's absolutely mint. I look forward to the media selling him for us in 2 seasons.

Yeah, he's gonna be boss. Let's just get a 200mil release clause in his contract now and be done with it.

He is homesick now mate and has been for a couple of months

Isn't it like a 2 hour train? That's actually commutable each day if he really wants to.
