Still think slowly, slowly needed with this lad. Thought he looked lost for most of what was a comfortable first half. No doubt the skill is there but still think it needs to be employed in the last third of a game rather than from the start.
And that's the exciting thing, you can't coach the natural talent and ability he has , but you can coach positioning, when to go forward , when to pass back etc, help improve his fitness , even his shooting ability which from the clips looks pretty good anyway. No need to play him from the start all time, but he'll bring a buzz to the crowd coming on at 60 mins.Still think slowly, slowly needed with this lad. Fully agree, but he's deffo the most exciting young player in world football right now.We mustn't fall into the trap of over hyping him
He's young and will makes mistakes, as will Davies and Holgate
Support him and wish him well, but don't pile expectation on him either
Give him time to develop
Tbf they started one game each last week, Mirallas v Stoke and Lookman v Bournemouth. Lookman was subbed on for Mirallas against Stoke when things weren't working, and the other way round against Bournemouth.Got into the team ahead of Mirallas last week. Either shows you all you need to know about Lookman, or Mirallas. Or both.
