Nigeria want to persuade 19-year-old Everton striker Ademola Lookman to play for them rather than England.

He has already played for England Under-19s and U20s but can switch allegiances as he is yet to play for the senior side.

"He has Nigerian parents and we'd need to speak to him first," Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) official Bitrus Bewarang told BBC Sport.

Lookman moved to Everton from Charlton earlier this month in a deal that could eventually cost £11m and scored on his debut in the 4-0 win over Manchester City.

Hope he chooses England tbf

I can't see why he wouldn't to be honest mate. He's a talented kid by all accounts. It's not like Victor who knew he would never get a call up for the England squad.
His parents are Nigerian, that could be a reason. He was born in England but beyond that who knows where his international loyalties are.

To be honest I'd rather he didn't pick England as the pressures that come along with it are ridiculous.

He'd also be competing with Kane for striker spot. Probably Sturridge, Walcott, Welbeck too. Likely easier to get into the Nigerian squad.

I meant apart from his parents sorry, true about the pressures but I don't know if professional players would see it like that. They would probably see it as being higher profile to play for England

Depends on the formation. Surely he wouldn't be played as a centre forward, more a wide forward I would have thought

Simply replace "Ademola Lookman" for the words "I should be so lucky" By K Minogue and you have a slightly camp song for our new boy wonder

In my imagination
There is no complication
I dream about you all the time
In my mind, a celebration
The sweetest of sensation
Thinking you could be mine
In my imagination
There is no hesitation
We walk together hand in hand

I should be Mo Besic, Mo, Mo Besic, I should be Mo Besic in Love.
