Said it before, but it is my opinion that he was bought partly to keep Lukaku happy - note that they talk in Linga during matches & tweet each other.
He can be a monster though ........ usually tearing us a new one when he was at Palace.
I personally think it was the only reason we bought him and the reason we paid so much for him. Let's be honest he's not or has ever been worth £30 mil

Might I remind people we signed John Stones for £3 million in January 2013, and everyone moaned about what an awful window it was. In August 2016, we sold him to Manchester City for an £47.5 million with add-ons. So we got 3.5 years of him and netted at least 40 million.

I love these signings. How many thought DCL would play in the first team this season before some of our established teenagers? You just don't know.

Ademola Lookman – Scout Report

Career Overview

In 2014 Lookman joined Charlton’s academy from youth football club Waterloo FC. After impressing in the U18s and U21s he got given his chance in the first team, making his debut coming on as a sub against MK Dons on 3rd November 2015.

It only took until the 5th December for Lookman to score his first goal for the club in a 3-2 defeat to Brighton.

The young forward had only been playing first team football in the Championship for a short time before clubs with the stature of Manchester City and Arsenal reportedly sent scouts to look at him. Clearly he was making an early impression.

Despite these rumours Lookman got his head down and his fan base grew in an impressive first season. He contributed five goals and an assist in twenty four appearances for the Addicks.

Unfortunately Lookman's promise and potential were one of the few shining lights in a dark season for Charlton. The club finished 22nd and got relegated to League One.

Strengths

Lookman is blessed with great pace, which can be used to great effect on the counter attack. He uses his balance and ability to turn quickly to disorientate defenders and put them on the back foot.

All football fans want to watch exciting players and Lookman’s direct running, skill and flair can get the crowd off their seat. He is certainly not afraid to take players on and has the fearlessness many top young players have, which makes him so dangerous going forward.

Despite coming from Non-League Lookman has good technique and quick speed of thought. He is the type of player that can change a game as he can run with the ball and is an instinctive finisher.

Lookman’s dribbling ability means that he is effective out wide and as a striker. He is not afraid to use either foot when shooting which means defenders have to wary of Lookman going either side of them.

Weaknesses

Not being the tallest of players means that Lookman isn’t the biggest aerial threat. As with many young players he will no doubt be working on his strength so he can hold his own against towering centre backs. His delivery of balls in the final third may also be an area where Lookman will be looking to be more consistent.

At 18 years of age and inexperienced at a professional level Lookman is certainly raw and in need of development but he has a lot of the attributes needed to make it at the top level.

These jokes are getting cornea and cornea...
Look man he has a great eye for goal and if we can keep the lid on this one he might not be visible to other clubs. Clearly he tears up defences and can lash a shot in with either foot. He was a model pupil at Charlton according to the tea lady, Iris . Lets just hope if he is good we can retaina his services - and we dont need any more jokes or aquous humor
