There's a line in that that goes "their father had envy so I shot him in the head". Perhaps you're slightly misremembering?

Great song either way.
no mate, deffo said the aids thing, it was an x-rated track, `fck 40 pussies` was one of the lines. probably an out-take or something

Sad to hear about this, I thought he was given the all clear some time back. A great loss

Watched that the other day, absolutely brill.

Made me fume reading the YT comments though, people saying it's not a fitting tribute and all that other bull****. Who cares if it's Coldplay or Eminem doing a tribute, anybody who knew the Beastie Boys music and thoughts would realise that they appreciated music in general.

quick story. My mates and I went to see Run DMC in about 1985/86 during the "King Of Rock" tour. The Beasties hadn't put out a record yet, but they were the opening act along with Whodini, and I believe UTFO.

So the organization of the entry was a mess and there was only a couple of doors open to get into the arena for some unknown reason. There was almost a Who-like stampede to get in and we nearly got crushed once they opened the doors and a wave of humanity pushed us towards the turnstiles. People were getting knocked over, tripped and it got really dicey in a run for safety.

Anyway, we were pretty shaken, but we got to our seats. Then the Beastie Boys came on. No one knew who these white guys were, but they were ****ing insane. I can remember Ad Rock marching around the stage pouring beer all over his head. And they ROCKED. We were stunned. Beginning of a love affair.

Was talking to my mate (who was at that show with me), and he mentioned we've partied and drank, and spent more good times together listening to the Beasties (along with REM and U2), than any other group. Just brings back a flood of memories. They were so talented and MCA is a legend.

47 is way too young. ****ing cancer.

It's awesome. They did it their way, in their style. It's amazing.
