Accepting where we are

Fact we aren’t as rich as the top 6 - they are running away from us. But we are in a better position than bottom 11.
Finishing top four is the new league win. Finishing top 6 is a good season and any manager that gets that should be appreciated.
Finishing 7 is par for the course.
8-9 is acceptable if football style is decent and we competed well in the cups.
Below 10th we should look for a new manager unless we have had a good cup runs.
We should always put our best teams out on the cups. Europa, league and fa cups are all we are playing for at the start of the season.
This is why football is pretty boring these days

We are where we are...

Things can not change overnight, it is a case of re-building the mess Koeman left us in....

We need some quality players to come into the team replacing the mediocre players we currently have...

We need time for our talented youngsters to progress into the first team gradually....

We need a manager with the vision & ambition to take us to the next level...

Sam won't be sacked mate. And I believe you realise this.
In the full spirit of this thread, I accept it completely mio amigo.

But will Everton and Sam have parted ways before the beginning of next season? I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he was here this time next year, or we were on our second managerial change since now.

Accepting mediocrity has been Everton's problem for too long. I will NEVER accept mediocrity, and no Evertonian should EVER accept mediocrity.

We are Everton Football Club. Don't EVER effin' forget it.
I agree 100% with this statement but we have lots of Everton fans who do accept mediocrity. They don't aim high. They accept what is and accept crap players and crap managers. If you even dare to mention us getting into the top 6 they kick off. What's wrong with people?

To a small extent I agree. A lot of fans seem to be accept where we are now. But we still sell out nearly every game.

But what us fans think really doesn't matter. What we think makes not much difference. The club have seemingly accepted mediocrity. They talk a good game, but never ever back it up with actions. They are the ones who have forgotten the clubs motto and actually have the power to adhere to it.

I think a lot of fans have just had enough of this. Disillusioned if you will.

If the club want fans to not accept mediocrity and aim higher the club has to start acting the NSNO motto. Which is not playing Cuco Martina at left back for 4 months. (Just one example).

Yes!

Elstone actually runs the club doesn't he? Bill/Moshiri just own it.

I think you've underlined the point and for reference it was widely reported that Bill and Moshiri had a difference of opinion on sacking RK and then who to appoint, cue 5 weeks of hand wringing. Elstone is a puppet, ultimately most clubs (including us) are run by their owners, they are not back seat shareholders.

Those in charge of the club are just unsuitable yet temporary custodians of a tradition that stretches back to almost 150 years in my family.
We've been poor for the last 30. No biggie. We'll be back.

What's our name?
