I don't really know, but i do know i want major improvements. Top 4 is a very tough ask. The premier league is just crazy at the moment, with some fantastic players, and some of the best managers in the world.

Get us European footy next season then will have been a decent season, going in though, a lot depends on what we do with bringing players in - we bring in the players we are apparently after, then we should be aiming to emulate what spurs did last season (be in with a shout come the last 6-8 games)

when do you reckon we get to the point where we bring in players too late that it affects the start of the season and in turn costs us dear in the end?

3 weeks to go, I'd like to think by the time we head to Germany 2-3 players would be in with movement on another couple in the pipeline.

Really want us to hit the ground running this season and get any new players bedded in with a few pre season games under their belts

I don't know if the new player thing is a bit of a myth mate though, Watford had basically a new starting 11 first game of last season, we largely had little change and a 2-2 draw at Goodison (and Watford with a new team started the season on fire for example), Think Bournmouthe had a lot of new players in as well and they started well also

Thing as long as the player is suited to the league and of a good enough quality with the right coach then they can adapt pretty fast

true mate.

Ideal world you get players in early but like you mention there are examples of teams with a lot of new signings still doing well.

At the moment, a top half finish would be good.
May change my vote if all the talk we've had for months now actually translates into some action. Underwhelmed

Martinez first season mate, got no one in and we started crap - 3 back to back draws if i remember right, last minute deals for 3 players - no time to bed them in, and we went onto a run of winning the next 3 vs way better teams

They came in missing our preseason, with fitness, defensive nous, and work rate which got drilled out of them by shamblinez

Not arguing, but any player we sing will be coming in from his pre season at his other club, so honestly think too much is made of 'getting them in early'

Guardiola is still looking at bringing in his starting cb's - pretty sure if he thought getting the business domne early was that important then they'd already have them signed up

I was being tongue in cheek mate. Professional footballers, you hope, would be adjustable to differing tactics.
