academy strikers

we seem to be cornering the market when it comes to bringing through decent defenders and midfielders (pennington, ledson, davies, barkley, dowell, browning) plus buying Galloway, Holgate and stones

this considered, why don't we seem to be able to bring through a striker better than kone/niasse

I have high hopes for Brewster.. but didn't get any U21 game time... don't get it considering ... Evans is definitely one that has sticks out. Young and playing full u21. Is he a striker or more behind the striker ala Scholes? Probably our main hope on the offensive side of the pitch.

Phil Jevons is an academy coach isn't he.


That'll probably be one of the reasons.

You can only develop the talent in your system, but it does seem like the academy is set up to develop midfielders and defenders.
