I for one think that he should've been paid up to the end of his time that he is signed up for.

A spokesman for the MoD said: ‘Service personnel are paid up to the date of their death.
‘Occasionally, deceased service personnel may be paid for the whole month of their death where the notification of death comes after the pay run has already taken place.
‘Whilst this results in a notional overpayment, no attempt is made to recover such sums after they have been paid.
‘However, where a further salary payment or credit is made at a later date, the final payment is adjusted to reflect the correct amount.’

well that'll be in pretty much every case, because there will always be paid leave that is owed, even more so when serving overseas.

The M.O.D. have probably insulted his memory more than the Taliban have themselves, and all for £433.

No he should be paid up until the time he would have been 65 IMO. Retirement age. I know soldiers don't work that long but he gave his life to the country. I would be quite happy to have my taxes going his way. Instead we pay to house Jeremy Kyle types to sit on their arses and spawn children whilst this lad isn't even given the courtosy of a full months pay after he died. Disgusting.

yet again this shi thole of a country dumps all over the people who serve in it's name. Disgusting way to treat anybody, let alone a man who gave his life fighting the corrupt bast ards war. May he rest in eternal peace.

:( That's disgusting.

Unfortunately that's the way things seem to "have" to work but it's not on. For the army, police, firemen, health service etc they should for one get paid far more and should never have to pay these kinds of "mistakes" back. The world is backwards.

I agree with you there Nik! WTF are they playing at the effin gobsh!tes? Raging here absolutely RAGING!!!!!
This Fukkin country is a shambles in all area's.
My thoughts go to all the families of lost soldiers, there the real hero's!

Such a sickener. I'm not sure which private school educated toff came up with this payment idea, but he needs shooting for it.

Not a modern phenomenon, this. When HMS Thetis went down in Liverpool Bay, Leading Stoker Walter Arnold (one of the four survivors out of more than a hundred RN and Cammell Laird personnel aboard) had great problems getting his pay because he had - after escaping from the submarine - neglected to bring his paybook with him.

I hate to play Devils Advocate here because I understand everyone's frustration; however, the Soldier was over paid for work he did not do, or couldn't do. (RIP)

That doesn't mean his family or spouse wasn't compensated.
