2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

A grand total of 19 goals, not good enough at all.

He's a great character.

You have to factor that into re-signing him. He gets his goals and he puts in a massive shift - not always successfully employed, obviously - but he must be great to have for morale and team bonding. The other players love him.
Even though I give him stick, I’d still be very open to the idea of him being given a short term contract - it just can’t be the same £125k as it is now, we can’t justify the return for those wages.

He also can’t start every game for 90 at the number 10 spot. But thats a management decision and not Doucoure’s ‘fault’ when it happens.

He is very useful against ‘better’ sides where he’s can press, be a nuisance and make it uncomfortable for midfields and defences. He is a liability when asked to create or maintain possession. Him and Gueye are the beating heart of the team. Gueye is way more of a priority to keep hold of though.

He’d be absolutely fine on reduced wages and being a squad player.

He'd been to a "Say No To Racism" event this week and some kids asked him to do that as his celebration so I wouldn't read too much into it.
Makes no sense, he scribbled on his hand, held his fingers to his ear like a phone and held his hands out. That isn’t a “no to racism celebration”, that’s a “ I wanna sign the ting, call me”.
