A worthy Aliens vs. Predator???

This guy is a complete Aliens/Predator geek (even have the original AvP comic laying around somewhere, and I even enjoyed Predator 2 waaaaay too much). But I was underwhelmed with both the Aliens vs Predator movies. Both rush jobs, one aiming for a broad audience so was watered down and one that just went for shock value like a cheap horror flick.

That being said the game tie-ins have had similar success....the original PC AvP and AvP2 were both atmospheric, awesome games. Then the xbox/ps2 generation started and so did the mediocre games. But now, the original developer of the PC AvP FPS is back!!!! And it looks awesome! It may not be the movie that I have been craving, but it will be some much fun if these guys live up to their reputation!

Shameful for me. Alien/Aliens were great, great movies. Predator was a very good movie. Why? Why for the love of god did someone decide they wanted to merge the two into some sort of teenage boys wankfest?

agreed. the movies were pure horribleness.

what we need is a movie set between alien and aliens which shows the fight of the colonists (newt's parents) v the aliens.

made well it could be superb.

jason found freddie in hell, disguised as jason's mum so he brought him back, freddie wasn't happy that people were more scared of jason than him, jason tries to get freddie from the dreamworld to the real world to kill him, freddie tricks jason into the dreamworld and turns him into a little boy, they fight, at the end jason has (an animated) freddies severed head, in a nutshell. Its probably on youtube

Well, in the mid-90's the comics came out. They were excellent. Then the PC game came, which was excellent.

Then, somehow, Paul W.S. Anderson pitched an idea to Fox and they let him run, so destroying the appeal of putting the two together. There IS potential for an awesome movie, but it will need someone really good to bring it out. Requiem was the low-rent horror flick that I alluded too earlier.

And Hayee, this isn't an advertisement, this is IGN doing a first-look. I seriously hope this game turns out good, as if it does I will deffo be buying it.
 
i remember the books AvP they must have been around 10 years ago or so.

such a shame the movies were just crap, for want of a better word.
