A wing back system?

Just a thought but anyone think considering how crap we have been defensively but how excellent Baines and Coleman are going forward a wing back system could work for us?

Something along them lines? Allows us to get forward down the wings and keep creative in the middle?

Can't imagine ever seeing this under Moyes but that looks like a strong formation to me.

Beckford should never be a lone striker unless we have no choice.

And the wingback system is kind of redundant. Barca do it best; they deploy 4 defenders, but 2 get to act essentially as wingbacks because a central midfielder drops back to cover. That's the way to go, if you ask me.

Then again I don't know as much about footie as I'd like to. I just try and sound like I know what I'm talking about.

I'm not sure those three give you the pace you need to 'get over'. Lescott and Yobo and Jags could have done it.

This is true. The commentary "Yobo launches upfield to Beckford" would loom large in any wing back line up featuring Joseph.

I think we play it anyway, have donw for years, our two wingers are inside forwards depending on who play they are either more advanced or deeper.
