I second this, thought that for a long time, just a steady left back behind him and bring one of our young LB through at the same time.

The left back position is SUCH a bugger to nail, think about it...

Whats the proportion of left footers to right footers? Probably 75/25.

Out of that 25% how many left footed players WANT to play in a defensive role? Probably less than 50%.

If you have a quality Left Back, do NOT change it!

Evra, Cole and Baines are the only left backs worth a toss in this country at the minute.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it...Baines isn't even close to broke, he's positively **** hot at the minute.

If we pushed Baines up we'd only have some average arse left back (i.e Neville) come in and our left side will rely on Baines beating man after man, which he doesn't do anyway, his game is all about the overlap.
