A great World Cup ruined by Brazil

This could well be remembered as one of the greatest World Cups ever, and some on these forums firmly believe so, but one continually nagging negative keeps resurfacing.

Yes I'm talking about the host nation Brazil. I normally accept great teams playing well, even if I don't like them, and even recently found myself 100% behind team USA for their honest and brave fight against Belgium.

However, every time Brazil take to the field it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. The referees play pivotal parts and they snide their way through their games.

I for one hope that Germany tear them a new one and wish they hadn't even made it out of the group.

Great World Cup, awful host.

The Brazilian emotional overacting - pointing to the heavens, shedding tears, praying etc etc etc - is getting on my nerves.

Not seen it from German or English players (not that the English players have cause to thank the spaghetti monster in the sky lol )

It's this notion that we should all want Brazil (Brah-zeeeel) to win cos it's 'the home of samba football' and they all love they football so much, and that the WC would suddenly die on it's arse the moment they're eliminated, that grinds me most.

germans were falling over after a touch like any other team. its the norm now unfortunately

This is the ugliest Brazil team in a long, long time. I really hope with all the vibrant, attacking teams in this tournament that they aren't the one to win it.

Colombia were poor in the first half but were very unlucky in the second half. The refereeing was awful throughout. Brazil get no yellows for kicking Rodriguez to bits, but he commits his first foul and gets a yellow? BS.

to be honest that's what keeps a wc going a home nation going as far as they can.

Not sure what the problem is here. Luiz"s free luck was the moment if the cup for me so far

I should have added an asterisk to my post. David Luiz is the one thing I still love about Brazil. He is absolutely ace and that goal was superb.
