A Golden Opportunity

Ive seen enough of Alan Hutton, to know that he is a good strong attacking full-back, and I for one would welcome him to Goodison. The well catalogued problems with the Spurs defence cannot be directly attributed to him nor in my opinion to the rest of his defensive team-mates, but as Rook mentioned in an earlier post, the problem was the spurs midfield or general lack of it last season. They provided no cover and in most early games last season, just rolled over.

We need to be realistic here, Harry loves Corluka and rightly so. He's obviously their best option on the right and it would take at least £20m for someone to prise him from the jowly one. What this 'Golden Opportunity' is referring to is the possibility of signing two young players who would improve everton's squad.Something that will be immensely important this season due to the 70 or so games we could play.

Everyone seems to agree with signing Hutton but I cannot understand the
negativity toward Bale. Not only does he offer competition on the whole left side, he's also a fantastic set piece taker which would come in so handy if Arteta were to get injured or need a rest. Not forgetting he's only twenty, has as many caps for his country and can still be developed by Round & Moyes.

I'm sure one day this kid will be at a top four side and be one of the best left backs in the country, all he needs is the right support at the right club.

Offloading Pienaar would subsidize this swoop. Steven Pienaar lacks the physique and attitude to progress any further. This must happen!!

Pienaar has one of the best attitudes in the squad IMO

his work rate and unselfishness proves this, how many times did he chase back last year to help Baines last year?

and most importantly from your wingers, How many goals did he make?

Easily our most productive player, EASILY!!!

I would not sell Pienaar, he works his chuffin socks off! Never seen a whine?? :dodgy:

I think he'll carry on his fine form from last season and the CC in the summer.....

Bale would be a good loan signing I think though on that note, can't believe he's never won at Spurs in the league (or is it all competitions?) crazy. He looked woeful for Spurs in a couple of games I watched for them in the UEFA, but just a lack of confidence, going forward I'd see him as a winger! Looks good on the ball

Hutton.....is he injury prone?

Briefly, as this is my first post I would like to introduce myself as a 27yo East Londoner and life-long toffee.

The reason for my post is the impending transfer of both Kyles, Naughton and Walker to Spurs, the former from under the noses of ourselves when all seemed to be finalised.

Whereas most blues seem to be shocked and extremely resentful toward both united and spurs for their craftiness, I expect shenanigans like this to occur as after all, football would not be football without it. Besides, we are talking about the two most devious entities in the game.

Actually, though i will be quite relieved if Tottscum sign Naughton and Walker as I feel it will open up a golden opportunity for Everton to steal in and get two players whose confidence and form have been sucked into the black hole beneath White Hart Lane that has consumed many a players future before them. Players I feel for the money spent will offer much more value to the squad in terms of their versatility.

The first in mind being Alan Hutton who hasn't had the best time at Tottenham with injury and rotation, is not a Harry signing and is considered expendable after only 18 months. A powerful attacking right back which we desperately seek who would also offer valuable cover in the centre of defence this coming season.

The second being Gareth Bale who at only 20 can be rescued from his spurs nightmare, where he hasn't been on the winning side after 2 years at the club, and kickstart his career under the careful watch of Round and Moyes. This acquisition would not only give Baines food for thought to continue performing superbly but also give continued competition for the left midfield spot should Pienaar take his horrible whiney face to La Liga.

£8-10million should secure the services of both these players since Levy is looking to recoup some of the dough that jowly face Redknapp squeezed out of him during last years panic spending. They're tall, athletic, skillful, pacy players who I'm sure will prosper at Everton.

I think Moyes should hire this fella.

Jesus.
