A Friday Pint


Beers in the garden are ace. I’ve bought myself a paddling pool. It’s big enough to lie back and float in it. When it’s boiling like it will be soon it’s just the best. It takes all the heat out of you and you can stay in the sun for hours and hours. I’ve got my routine down splendid. Top off, drink beer, get too hot, get in said paddling pool, lie back, look up at the blue sky, you could be anywhere in the world but for the fraction of the price. Then repeat it all again.
No need for fancy foreign holidays. Just get yourself a paddling pool. Thank me later.

You can put chlorine tablets in it but I’m not sure they do much. You need a little net thing like you’d get for rock pools. Mine came with one. That’ll get all the bugs and bits out. It tends to get a bit slimy after about a week so I just refill the bugger. It’s not often we get weather long enough to bother but looks like we’ve got a heatwave coming for a week in a day or two. Honestly it’s the nuts and I’m not even joking. Get the biggest best one you can get. That’s my advice 🤣
 
Especially right if you’ve got kids. You know when the house is boiling and you can’t sleep. Just get in the old paddling pool last thing and it takes all the heat of you. Then off to bed. Sorted 😀

If I can source one of those barrels them fools in the niagra falls used to use to go over the falls, I'll make it into a plunge pool kind of thing, and get a micro freezer to do ice just for it. Might even pretend I'm an athlete doing those ice bath recovery sessions. A little lid, and when I'm done, cool off the 4 packs.

Funny you should mention that cause her indoors tells me this is the next stage in evolution to the paddling pool. She wants some plunge pool thing or something which basically sounds like what you’re describing. Big enough for one to get in and cold as f…. Personally though it’s the lying back and looking up at the sky which quite important to me. But each to their own as they say.
