I'm spending Christmas and New Year in the states this year, so can any of our US Blues tell me what to expect and what, if any are the major differences between the two cultures ?

Generally it would be ****ter and Americanised with actual religion in The States.

Nothing like a British Christmas.

Some countries, like Australia, it's HOT on Christmas Day. That is unbelievably ****.

I think I'll miss Everton, UK Gold, black pudding & Fried egg on toast on Boxing day morning.

Apart from that,I'm really looking forward to a turkey and sprout free zone.

Bad for the meal, but ace sitting outside in shorts with a Beer after said meal.

We used to, I agree that we are losing our identity and sense of tradition at an alarming pace...but what can yer do !

Typical American Christmas Eve
5:00 The family would finish decorating tree at this point if not already done.
6:00 We would now eat something hearty for dinner, but not necessarily a feast. Definitely with eggnog.
7:30 This is a decent time to start baking a diabetes worth of cookies. Extra butter.
11:34 We generally offer blood sacrifice to Satan Clause (from neighborhood pet to virginal daughter or firstborn son).
11:35 Eat a few of the cookies to wash down the salty redness from the profane chalice.
12:00 Sleep well, and await the red dawn.
