On the coach home last week I was gutted not only from the result but my 8 year old son being in tears. He has taken a load of stick this week at school and I felt like crap and apologised to him for bringing up a blue.(wrong I know) At this point I was as low as I have ever felt as a blue. His response' it's all stored dad our day will come and we can Sing the blues when it does'. I asked where's that come from and he said he heard one of our supporters said in on the way to the coach. Born a blue and proud love him to bits. Hope we can sing the blues more next year and hope fellow blues will post a response for him to read. COYB

Being a young blue can be extremely hard. I'm only 20, and although i may not fully feel the fall that we've had compared to the 70s and 80s that also means i don't have the memories to feed off. One of my first big memories of Everton was them losing 2-0 to Leicester in 1998....

He'll grow up a better man for it. He'll know that pride does not = glory. And when glory comes, he'll appreciate it and feel it in his bones.

That always seems a double edge sword for me mate, its like breaking up with a bird, when you think back you only remember the good times largely, although many young blues missed out on some great years, you missed a fair bit of heartbreaking, mind numbing dross and gashness, where we are absolutley rubbish for a good 15 -20 years - if you think things are bad now they were worse then *100.

Would bring tears to your eyes mate!

I know what he's going through. I myself am only 16, Everton have never won a trophy in my life. The RS have won a Champions League, F.A Cup and a Carling Cup. I get **** every day because of Everton. When the first game I watched as an Everton supporter was a 7-0 defeat to Arsenal I knew I was in for a tough time.

As my arl fella told me 28 years ago quite simply "Its hard being an Evertonian" never a truer word said but I wouldnt change it for the world. We were discussing how much would you sell your semi ticket for on the way there, I got offered £300 turned it down instantly I would have maybe thought about it if it got to £10k but then probably would have turned it down, we are Everton!

This is what it's all about being an Everton fan these kind of results just make us all stronger Evertonians and make the better times even better.
