Agree with all you say re the backstage organisation (or more precisely, the lack of it in recent years). All that one can hope for is that the on-pitch performances take us to safety, and that, in turn, hopefully brings a more stable scenario with regard to the running of the club. I believe that is what we all hope for...
That is ut i dont think any of us think it is a quick fix but we just want to see improvements across the club. Another thing will be intrestint if the deal is done in the tine they think december what they will have planned for the transfer window we still need players.

Should be fine then…..

Some interesting points and certainly our football could learn from the NFL in terms of (yuck) monetisation. But ignores some really fundamental differences between the two worlds: the NFL is first and foremost a profit making exercise with semi-socialist rules (salary caps, the draft) designed to keep all franchises competitive, the fans spending, and all the franchises profiting. The franchises compete in a sporting sense but business-wise they are really part of one money making exercise.

There are loads of lessons to be learned on basic money making and basic logistics from somewhere like the NFL but the answer to why NFL teams make a profit and PL teams by and large do not lies in the fact that PL teams have to financially outmuscle each other to buy success in a way that NFL teams can't and don't.

First thing they want to control is their broadcasting rights.

Until that changes, there's only a ceiling they can reach. Other clubs have higher ceilings.

Different circumstances entirely though .
Usmanov stayed in the background , so he could put money into the club via sponsorship deals, circumventing restrictions.
But there was never any real doubt who ‘owned’ the club.
I don’t see anyone using 777 in the same way .
Happy to be disabused of that opinion though if you are aware of any mystery invester hiding under their coattails?
If there was a 'mystery investor' wouldn't that be 'exactly the same'? 😊

I'm quite livid about that don't ask don't tell post, so I am gonna voice my deepest darkest concern about 777 in the event of a positive outcome for the club in the interim. Say the stadium is finished and safe and we stave off relegation for a year. My fears shot up when I read that Wander interview on FT(an outlet for the money people right), first read it as a fan, then understood my mistake and read it as a potential investor. So when he says we have not sufficiently commercialized the product, is he talking about the club or the fans? Consider the fact he says that the fans' intense engagement means that the fans are begging to be monetized.

So then what is this insurance or financial services he speaks of in place of hotdogs and beer to their 'customers'? Insurance is typically when you pay a moderate amount of money in the hope that you get coverage based on the community's efforts (individual direct payments or company investments) to maintain the system in the event of a personal negative event (accident, death, or such). Are fans really going to have such personal events related to the club or is it more conceivable that the personage in question is the club itself? Hence, you sell the owners or potential investors of these clubs insurance to ensure that negative events associated with the club are covered not directly by the investors but by the community effort (i.e. fans first, the club next, and then the investors). This would work only if it is a multi-club model with unique investment partners. So the fast-tracked purchase of the multiple clubs may have been a necessary rather than a sufficient condition.

The fans are essentially there to produce the community effort necessary to not only run our club but also to cover other potential clubs in the event of any negative events (even from mismanagement). In all of this, it begs the question what insurance will these take out (there could be complete nonchalance toward the actual footballing operations)? You win a cup, you get relegated, or you dissolve the club, the portion of the investment is insured. Hertha's previous owner took a stake in the 777 partnership in exchange for the sale.

Is there any positive spin on this model or a possibility of fans(?) having financial services for positive events?

Its quite simple really if you take a step back.

Look at United and Liverpool. You see all their fans wearing kits on holiday and on weekdays etc.

Then look at the massive commercial deals they have with car firms and many many others, even asian noodle companies and the like.

If youre a supporter and you can choose between two airlines and one sponsors your club then in the back of your mind perhaps you pay a little extra for that one.

Or if its between two products and one sponsors everton perhaps you choose that one?

Thats primarily for fans that are 'easily led' i suppose but it works with the successful teams expecially with foreign customers.

At the end of the day we all have choices.

You can only go with the information available about 777 and that doesn't add up to a positive.

Most of us are too old to believe in Santa Claus. This lot aren't going to be putting wads of cash into the club.

The best we can hope for is completion of the stadium, avoidance of relegation, and a few years of modestly upward stability before we're sold again to a group with deep pockets.

That would be some achievement for 777. Let's see whom they appoint to the board and key positions but I doubt their competency. I'm not concerned about relegation as it feels we've been staring it in the face forever but it also feels like this is not the move that promises to put a halt to that slide.

My gut reaction to the news yesterday was a mixture of anxiety and resignation. To say I'm trying to look ahead to the next +1 new owner at the club before 777 have even got their feet in the door is just prime Everton these days. What state will we be in then?

If it quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

hahaha, I think the Beto deal is fine cause they are guaranteed payments backed by Premier League or UEFA rules.

What I fear is different. Consider the case of Beto themselves, for instance, if the first payment for the deal is 4m say.

(Although this is not possible...)

Then the new owners would go along these lines and say, "Do you trust Beto, do you like him to do well? We want you to encourage him to get to 20 goals this season. We want you to spend a tenner and send a message of encouragement to him, and fifty pounds get you a five-second video. When he hits the mark, we will give you an equivalent discount on club merchandise.".
Say they have around 2m collected this way. In the event that Beto hits 20 goals and they return the 2m, then the value of Beto as a striker would be worth the outlay of 4m as the market value would skyrocket, and if Beto doesn't they only need to pay 2m with the fans fronting the other 2m at which point of time, the 2m would be an accurate market evaluation thereby protecting their investment on the club.
Too deep for me all that mate, I just meant on the never-never

What you say is right and is just commercialization which we currently do albeit poorly, but these lot are talking about super duper hyper commercialization, and have clearly stated that their critics have 'misunderstood the logic of their bets'.
Of course, the signs are not good, image the owner saying as passionate fans of the club we are begging to be monetized.

You are right there, they might renege on payments.
